How To Change & Create New UPI ID in Paytm

Do you want to change your Paytm UPI ID and want to create a new UPI ID? If yes, then here we will tell you step by step, how to create a new UPI address (VPA) in Paytm and change your default primary UPI ID.

UPI address used to receive and transfer money via UPI. You can share your UPI ID with the sender to receive money in your bank account and also the sender can request money through your UPI ID.

Create a new UPI ID on Paytm and Set it as Primary

Step 1: Open the Paytm application and tap on the menu button and open the menu options. Now select “UPI & Payment Settings

Step 2: Next screen select “Manage UPI IDs

Step 3: Next screen you can see your current primary (default) UPI ID. To create your new UPI ID, just rap on “Add New UPI ID

Step 4: Now select any UPI ID from the suggestion list and proceed.

Step 5: Done! your selected UPI ID is now created and set as your primary UPI ID.

Step 6: You can see your newly created UPI ID is now set as your primary UPI ID. You can edit & remove this UPI ID anytime. Only this new UPI ID will be displayed to others when you send or receive money via UPI. You can share this new UPI ID to receive money in your primary bank account.

Please note, your old default UPI ID will always be active (you cannot remove it from your Paytm account), but will not be visible to others unless you share it. You can also share your Old default UPI ID to receive money. To make your old UPI ID primary, just remove the new one which you created.
